TGR: Thanks for stopping by, please introduce yourself?
Hi, I’m Mike. I’m the vocalist for Twelve Noon.
TGR: Can you tell us a little about the history of the band? Where did it all begin? How did you come together?
Twelve Noon was originally formed by myself and guitarist Rob Heil. We started off as a cover band and would slowly throw some original tunes into our set. As we continued to grow our fan base in Pittsburgh Pa, we came to realize our audience was really into the originals we would incorporate into our set. From that moment on, we decided to push Twelve Noon as an original band.
TGR: Who or what do you cite as being influential to your sound? Do your influences extend beyond into film, prose, art, something else perhaps?
I can honestly say there are no limits as far as influences go for us. Whatever each member is into at the time they bring that to the table as far as writing. It may be bands like Pantera, Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, or it could be personal issues a member is going through that might control our sound in some aspect.
TGR: How would you describe the band sound? Who do you think your music will appeal to?
I would say we are metal. People who listen to hard rock or heavy metal would enjoy our music.
TGR: How does the songwriting process work? Do you write the music and lyrics collaboratively?
Yes, we write both the music and the lyrics collaboratively.
TGR: Is there any overarching theme with your music and if so where does this originate from?
For the most part, our theme is to be yourself and you can make it through any issues you may have in life.
TGR: Tell us about your instruments. Are you loyal to any particular brand? If so, why?
As far as myself, I’m into Sennheiser for my mic choice. The rest of the band usually experiments with multiple brands pretty often.
TGR: How difficult is it to be heard? Social media is great for finding new talent, but there is also a lot of crap out there. How do you connect with listeners?
We just try to be everywhere we can as far as social media and locally. We just continue to push content to show everyone who Twelve Noon is.
TGR: Can you tell us about some of the highs and lows of your career so far?
As far as myself there really hasn’t been any lows. I enjoy doing what we do. If I had to pick it would probably just be the frustration I get with trying to reach to new fans. It can be taxing.
TGR: What does your back catalogue look like? What is your most recent release and how can we hear it?
We just released a video for our single Hope In Tragedy. You can check that and the rest of our music out on Spotify, YouTube, iTunes, and at EclipseRecords.com
