Alternative Metal outfit NoSelf from Central Florida recently inked a worldwide distribution deal with Zombie Shark Records, the new record label from Noah “Shark” Robertson (Motograter, The Browning).
Their latest album ‘Human-Cyborg Relations Episode 1’ was recorded by Matt Johnson at Revelation Studios. The band is putting a modern twist on the nu metal genre, similar to bands like Cane Hill, DED, My Ticket Home, and Issues. The group is heavily influenced by bands like Deftones, Spineshank, Adema, Nothingface, and Korn.
NoSelf states, “NoSelf is incredibly excited to be working with Noah “Shark” Robertson from Zombie Shark Records. We are very passionate about Nu Metal and we could not be more thrilled to be a part of the Nu Metal revival. Having already played several shows alongside label mates Keychain, it could not be more evident that we are on the right path, with the right label.”
Robertson commented on the signing, “NoSelf are poised to be the next big thing in Mainstream Rock. This band is going to take the Zombie Shark Records label and the Nu Metal genre to a whole new level. Simply put. The gloves are off.”
Next up is Riksha. These guys have a bit of Tool going on, a bit of Meshuggah, too. So, if you dig those bands check out Riksha! Their album, Five Stages of Numb is also out now via Zombie Shark records and all other online music retailers.

Salt Lake City’s RIKSHA have inked a worldwide deal with Zombie Shark Records, the new record label from Noah “Shark” Robertson (Motograter, Ex-The Browning). The band’s latest album ‘Five Stages Of Numb’ was recorded at Elevate Studios by notable producer and drummer for Chelsea Grin, Pablo Viveros. Album art was provided by Die Elster.
Riksha’s sound is affectionately known as “throg”, a mixture of “thrash” and “progressive”. The band can best be compared to groove metal and nu metal bands such as Mudvayne, Tool, Pantera, Coal Chamber, Soulfly, Nothingface, and American Head Charge.
Riksha frontman Palmer states, “We couldn’t be more excited to be working with Zombie Shark Records and the great bands they represent.”
Riksha has released 2 previous studio albums recorded by Bruce Kirby at Boho Digitalia Studios – ‘Dream Drops Red’ released through Dark Harvest Records and the independently released ‘Night Begins’. Riksha burned up the underground metal scene in 2012, winning Project Independent’s “Industry Panel Favorite” voted on by a panel of producers, A&R reps, and record company owners. Since then, the band has purchased a 1973 Eagle Tour Bus and has hit the road throughout the US. Riksha is currently making plans to tour the U.S. in support of their upcoming release.
Zombie Shark Records label manager Michael Boodagh states, “Riksha is a growing artist that is continually perfecting their craft. I am pleased to welcome them to the ZSR team! I can’t wait to see what comes next!”
Finally, we have Dirty Machine, a band that wears its nu-metal tag proudly. If you wish for a return to the days when Limp Bizkit wanted to Break Stuff, Adema showed you The Way You Like It and Korn were still Freaks On A Leash then Dirty Machine will definitely be right up your alley. Crunching stop/start nu-metal riffs, turntable scratches and hip-hop style vocals are still the rage with these guys. Check out the video for Discord below.

Nu Metal outfit DIRTY MACHINE from Los Angeles, California recently inked a worldwide deal with Zombie Shark Records, the new record label from Noah “Shark” Robertson (Motograter, The Browning). The band’s latest album ‘Discord’ was produced by Ben Jovi and Dirty Machine at Left Coast Label Studios. The album was mixed by Arnold “Hedge” Quezada and Darren Davis at Blunoize Studios, and was mastered by Josh Wickman from Dreadcore Productions (KING 810, Within The Ruins).
Dirty Machine has been heralding the nu metal flag since 2012 and pulls major influences from nu metal-era bands such as Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Nonpoint, Mudvayne and Sevendust. The band quickly built a rabid underground following, especially in the Kansas City area, due to getting regular airtime on the leading Kansas City rock station “98.9 The Rock” and headlining the Jägermeister Stage at the 2016 Kansas City Rockfest. Dirty Machine has shared the stage with Ghost, Sixx AM, Disturbed, Trivium, Hell Yeah, Alien Ant Farm, Otep, Metalachi and more.
Keep it METAL. \,,/
